For years home owners have battled with Internal Window Cleaning, and how to achieve streak free clean windows inside their houses, but in this day and age it really isn’t difficult. So, as professional window cleaners, we are going to let you into the secret.

Rather than ask your window cleaner to clean the insides of your inside windows, you will save hundreds of pounds if you do it yourself. And it doesn’t have to be a monotonous time consuming chore.

  1. Do not use commercial window cleaning sprays. Simply buy yourself a spray bottle from your local DIY store and use regular tap water.
  2. When you are next in your local supermarket, or DIY store, buy a few microfibre cloths. Not the type with a rough finish that look like small towels, there are cloths for glass and window cleaning which have a smooth finish… they’re the ones to look for.
  3. Spray a light mist of water onto your window and wipe clean, making sure you do not leave any beads of water behind.
  4. Clean one window per day / week, or whatever you can manage, and your windows will stay sparkling and streak free all year round.

Practice makes perfect where internal window cleaning is concerned, but it isn’t difficult, and you will soon get the hang of it.

If your windows are really filthy, with mold or mildew etc, wash them first and squeegee them to clear most of the remaining dirty water, then dry around the edges with a cloth or towel. After that, use your water spray and microfibre cloth to polish them.

The best practice is to keep on top of your window cleaning by cleaning them every two or three months. You’ll soon wonder what all the fuss was about.
